What is the CCWA?
The Canadian Craft Winemakers Association (CCWA) has now been renamed to better reflect its representative force to both its founding manufacturers and the customers it serves. Previously known as the Canadian Home Wine Trade Association, formed in 1993, the association will continue to serve the interests of the manufacturers of beer and wine kits but is now reaching out to the consumers, retailers and associate supplier members within a growing industry sector.
The Association is the voice of the consumer craft wine industry in Canada and enjoys its strong working relationship with the respected Provincial Guilds and Associations currently formed in BC, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada who serve the interests of the retailers there.
CCWA is the leader in establishing standards for wine and beer kits in Canada. These standards complement the Food and Drug Act, Consumer Product Labelling Act and the other federal acts and regulations governing pre-packaged "food". CCWA standards are reflected in its members' licensing agreements which allow the use of CCWA trademarks.

In essence, CCWA provides value to both its full members and valued associate members through the following service underpinnings:
- Networking;
- Research;
- Policy development;
- Advocacy at both the federal and provincial levels of government.
